This post is all about how to refresh your bedroom!

If you’re feeling uninspired by your room lately, then it’s time for a bedroom refresh!
I’m a firm believer in the idea that our space drastically affects our mood, motivation and mindset. When your space is feeling blah for whatever reason, so do you.
That’s why it’s imperative to keep your bedroom feeling fresh and clean so you can keep a clear mental state and live life to its fullest!
Here are 12 simple bedroom refresh ideas that will take your room from blah…to TADA!

12 Simple Bedroom Refresh Ideas
1. Freshen up your bedding
There’s nothing more satisfying than pulling back the sheets of a freshly made bed at the end of a busy day. And finally breathing that sigh of relief that comes with getting cozy and snuggled into bed.
But sometimes, even our bed can even start feeling a little blah when we’ve had the same old bedspread or sheets for too long. To remedy this problem, splurge on a new duvet color with an exciting print, or some soft new sheets! . My favorite are these Bella bamboo sheets.
(Check out this guide I made on how to make your bed more comfortable!)
I also recommend taking those extra 5 minutes to make sure your bed is made before starting each day. There’s just something about it that makes me feel more put together and ready to take on whatever the world throws my way!
2. Take 10-15 minutes a day to declutter surfaces
As a busy mom, I know just fast those clean surfaces can become covered with stuff.
If we can discipline ourselves to spend just 10 or 15 minutes a day to mindfully put things away…Our space doesn’t get nearly as messy and we get to enjoy a fresh clean space WAY more often. It’s so much more fun to be in a tidy space, right?
One way i’ve gotten my clutter under control is by taking the time to make sure everything has a home and purchasing some extra storage solutions like these:
3. Rearrange your room
Once or twice a year, I LOVE to rethink my bedroom and move everything around. I move my bed to a different wall, I move my dresser and guitar to another place, and I move my decorations and plants to new homes.
Sometimes I even splurge a little and find a new decoration or furniture peace to add a little spice to my setup. It’s one easy and cost effective way to keep things interesting and keep your space feeling fresh and exciting!
4. Create an accent wall
Another fun way to liven up your bedroom space is by creating an accent wall with a different color of paint, or even adding wallpaper.
Some other fun and unique ideas in this same vein are making a chalkboard wall, putting wallpaper on the ceiling, or paining on a texture to your walls!
5. Create a book nook
If you’re an avid reader, you should consider creating a cozy reading sanctuary, specifically for getting lost in your amazing books. This can add an additional cozy spot in your bedroom that you look forward to spending time in(that isn’t your bed).
Find a cozy chair online or at a thrift store, and then complete it by adding some fun throw pillows, some chunky knit blankets and soft lighting!
6. Accent pillows
Never underestimate the power of a pillow! They can make a huge difference when reimagining your bedroom, especially if you don’t have any yet!
Choose from a variety of textures, colors and sizes for the ultimate bedroom restyle.
You can even collect pillow covers as you go to provide yourself with more variety and choices when you want to spice things up!
7. Add curtains
Blinds and curtains can do a lot for a room, not only do they tie it all together nicely, but they can provide some nice shade and privacy. In the summer they look so pretty when they softly blow in the breeze that comes in through the windows!
Here are some cute pom-pom type curtains from Amazon!
8. Add a headboard
If you know you want to change something in your bedroom, but you just can’t put your finger on what…The answer you’re looking for may be a cute and luxe headboard.
Headboard can create an effective focal point for your bedroom and provide a comfy way to sit up in bed if you like to watch TV in bed at the end of a long day. Choose from a plush upholstered headboard for a comfy effect or something wooden or metal for a more industrial-looking touch.
9. Invest in an area rug
Area rugs can add so much visual interest and texture to any space that feels a little blah. If you’re lucky enough to have wood flooring in your bedroom, I think area rugs look especially good over hard or soft wood flooring!
Choose a bold pattern, a classic oriental or something with fun colors to really pull your space all together!
10. Get some greenery
Adding plants to a room can quickly and effectively liven up any space! Not only do plants improve your home’s air quality, but they just create a more warm and inviting space in general. Head to your local garden, grocery, or walmart/home depot and pick out some beautiful plants and complete the look by finding some unique pots to house them!
Becoming a plant mom takes a little bit of devotion, but boy is it worth it!
Or you could always get fake plants, like this pretty monstera.
11. Hang some new wall art
Sometimes creating a bedroom refresh is as simple as finding some unique wall art that speaks to you to customize your space a little more. You can create an eclectic collage of different things you find interesting to add a lot of personality and depth to the look of your room. 12. Add some scent
I live in a state where I get to enjoy the changing of the seasons, and I absolutely LOVE to adjust my room’s scent to the different times of year.
During the summer time I enjoy keeping the windows open to let in the summery fresh air. During the fall, it’s all about spice, pumpkin and apple scents. And when it gets cold and dry during the winter, I pull out my humidifier/essential oil diffuser and use a variety of essential oils to lightly scent the room with lavender, eucalyptus and orange!
I feel it helps bring my room to life in a variety of ways throughout the year and I highly recommend doing it!
